Each Vermont botanical is the creation of Maggie Lake and is handcrafted in her workshop in Putney, Vermont. Maggie's love and knowledge of plants and herbs leads her on gathering expeditions throughout Vermont, and to places as far away as the alpine tundra fields of Alaska. With these plant specimens she creates her one-of-a-kind botanicals. Each piece is framed in a choice of cherry or bird's eye maple frames using museum matte board.

Friends, Maggie's cancer has recurred and she is slated for a second stem cell transplant on July 1, 2013 followed by a month in the hospital and then home in semi-isolation for a few more months. You can follow her thoughts on her experience here.

One silver lining of her illness is that she's had more time to build up a terrific inventory and has some great new pieces and sizes available (although she can't take any special orders for now.) Maggie's amazing family and friends are going to run some shows for her, you can find the details on when and where here.

Please note that we are unable to accept credit cards this year so you must bring cash or check, apologies for the inconvenience.

In addition to the upcoming shows, you can also shop online to fill your homes and others with her beautiful work. (These make great wedding, housewarming, and holiday gifts.) Thank you so much for all your years of patronage and friendship. Maggie's goal is to see you all in person next year.

If you have not already seen them please take a look at the new giclee archival prints. Giclee is a beautiful printing process using inks that are colorfast for over 100 years, printed on the finest quality archival paper and completed by museum matte board and contemporary frames. Check them out!

Please don't hesitate to call, write or visit the new Putney studio.
